Black King Cobras

Black King Cobras is a Folks Mob made up of mostly blacks.

Their colors are black, blue, and red. The original colors are black and green.

Their symbols include the gate, which is the roman numeral of 3 (III), the 6 point star, cobra snake, scythe, a heart with 1 wing and a scythe through it with 3 drops of blood falling from the scythe.

Their founder is Jerome "King Shorty" Freeman

This organization was originally started in the early 1960s by a man named Jerome Freeman (current leader of the Black Disciples a.k.a BDs) David Barksdale (supreme king of the infamous BGDN/ also recognized leader of the GDs & BDs) was the leader of the Devil's / Gonzato Disciples at the time of Jerome Freeman's reign as leader of the Black King Cobras. Barksdale was organizing/uniting several local street gangs within the area forming the Black Disciple nation absorbing the Black King Cobras within the Disciple Nation, through the development of a close relationship between himself and Freeman at the time. Also history states that another gentleman by the name of Larry Hoover was starting the Gangster Nation after reigning as the leader of the Supreme Gangsters. After Hoover's group and Barksdale's group battled after sometime with neither side showing a sign of giving up the two joined forces and formed the BGDN battling against the bigger/opposing enemy the BPSN and Vice Lords. In 1969 David Barksdale was gunned down and later died from his wounds in 1974. Leaving Hoover and Freeman as the top two successors of the BGDN thrown. Hoover took over the BGDN after Barksdale's death and formed the Folk Nation in the mid 1970s. Jerome Freeman broke away from the organization with his followers and went back to the organization's roots reforming the Black Disciple Nation (BDs) The BDs descendents of the BGDN joined the folk nation keeping some ties to the organization. Although throughout the 80s & 90s the BDs battled with the BGDs and after battling for so long the BGDs went far as dropping the B from the moniker just being known as GDs and on the other hand the BDs began showing the pitchforks of the GD nation upside down no longer using the symbol (also later dropped the heart with wings as well) During the early-mid 90s to the present the BDs ancestor group the Black King Cobras began to resurface on the streets of Chicago. The Black King Cobras remain to retain close ties to the BDN honoring/representing BD symbols, colors and literature ex: THE GATES III, THE SIX POINT STAR, the Black King Cobras also wear/represent the colors of BDN traditional RED/BLUE/BLACK although in addition the Black King Cobras have their own individual identity as well with their original colors and symbols ex: colors BLACK/GREEN symbol COBRA SNAKE.

THAT THE BLACK KING COBRAS HAS A NEW(ACTIVE) LEADER OF THE ORGANIZATION ALTHOUGH THE ORGANIZATION STILL RECOGNIZES JEROME FREEMAN AS THE FOUNDER* RETAINING CLOSE TIES TO THE BDN ORGANIZATION
