Gangster Party People Nation Gangster Party People Nation is a Folks Mob made up of mostly latinos. Their colors are white and black. Their symbols include Playboy Bunny, Cross w/3 slashes on top and Circle on bottom, 6 point Star. Some of their spin off sets include Renegade PP's, Sureno PP's. The Party People originated as a "party crew" in the Pilsen community on Chicago's Southwest side in mid 1970's. As time progressed, the group found it necessary to defend themselves from the many local street gangs, such as La Raza, Ambrose, Bishops, and Latin Counts. After various altercations with these gangs, the Party People emerged on the streets as a gang themselves (Note: the Gangster Party People should not be mistaken for the K-Town Party People, which was a gang that is now extinct). During the 1880's the gang secured the vicinity around 18th & May and fought several Pilsen area street gangs for reputation and turf. They joined the Folks alliance in 1984 under the umbrella of the Gangster Two-Six street gang, after initially being turned down due to there title of Party "People" and the fact they were in war with several Folks street gangs. Some Party People members (usually "oldschool" members) continue to consider themselves Folks, while few others have broken away and adopted a "Renegade" philosophy in regards to alliance. This seperation is due to the altercations and hatred towards any "Disciples" street gangs. Around 1990, the group spread their influence to the Gage Park community on the city's Southside and fought several street gangs such as Latin Kings, Black P. Stones, and Vice Lords. In 1996, the Party People rested away La Raza territory on the corner of 61st & Fairfield in the Marquette Park neighborhood which was a crowded gang area at that time, with such gangs as the Gangster Disciples, Ambrose, Latin Souls, and Two-Six. The Party People killed a high-ranking members of the Latin Souls, which lead to a gang war between the Latin Souls and Ambrose against the Party People. During the same year, a Party People gang member known as "Happy G", shot a Sheriff of the Chicago Police Department on Fairfield street. He was arrested on attempted murder charges by Chicago Police and served 8 years in prison. However, this incident forced the CPD to target the gang, forcing the Gangster Party People to draw back to 56th street. In 2000, a member of the gang killed a young child, the Chicago Police Department issued "Operation Just Cause", which seeks to incarcerate members for any and all offenses. |
