Latin Stylers Nation Latin Stylers Nation is a Folks Mob made up of mostly latinos. Their colors are Burgundy & Grey Their symbols include a Shield w/LS engraved in the middle, 6 point Star The Latin Stylers originated in the Logan Square community in the late 1960's. The Latin Stylers street gang has been rumored to have initially originated in New York, however, the Latin Stylers support no validation to this claim. In any event, The Latin Stylers originally operated in the vicinity of Diversey & Kedzie on Chicago's Northwest side. The Latin Stylers have remained a relatively small organization throughout their history, and the gang has retained a well known presence in the Hermosa community in the past decade. In 1996, the Latin Stylers expanded their operations into the vicinity of Blackhawk Park, where the gang would settle in the area of Belden & Lamon in the Hermosa community. As the gangs prospected to solidify their presence in the neighborhood, the gang experienced several rival gangs who seemed to challenge the Latin Stylers in spouts of turf wars. In the 1990's, the Latin Stylers gained a significant reputation for violence and shootings on the Northwest side. This period of time may be considered the Latin Stylers most active peak throughout their history, however, this also lead to the decline in the gangs operations. In the late 1990's and early millenium, many members of the Latin Stylers were incarcerated or killed. Its not clear at this time when or if certain the Latin Stylers joined the "Insane Familia", a group of allied Latino Folks gangs aside the umbrella of the Spanish Cobras in the prisons and on the streets, however, for a number of years the Latin Stylers used the "Insane" moniker as a prefix in their gangs title. It is suspected that the Latin Stylers were not content with the likes of the Spanish Cobras street gang and abandoned their ties to Spanish Cobras and Insane Familia, in which a war resulted from the split. Following the split, a large portion of the organization adopted a "Renegade" persona and commonly referred to the gang as the Renegade Latin Stylers. In the mid-to-late 90's, the Latin Stylers established a relationship with the Milwaukee Kings and Maniac Latin Disciples street gang's. Soon after, the Latin Stylers joined the "Maniac Family", a group of allied Latino Folks gangs aside the umbrella of the Maniac Latin Disciples in the prisons and on the streets. Although the Latin Stylers are apart of the Maniac Family "in the books", the Latin Stylers prefer to be known as the Renegade Latin Stylers rarely adopting the "Maniac" prefix to their gang title. The Latin Stylers and Milwaukee Kings street gang are often referred to as "1st-Cousins" on the streets. The Latin Stylers principle rivals have consisted of the Latin Kings, Spanish Cobras, Ashland Vikings, Latin Pachucos, and Insane Dragons street gang's. |
